Another addition to this year's illustration series is a Gray Whale:
I love how this one turned out! I wasn't sure how the splashy water would work out in the end, but this is dynamic and I love the lines. This was a fun one to draw!
Following suit with the last couple of illustrations in the series, I drew this tiger in a similar style:
Although I usually like simpler drawings, I loved the added background and wanted to keep that in this illustration as well. I love how it defines the space without a hard border. Doesn't this look like so much fun to color?
Here's another addition to the Wild & Woundrous Series:
This is part of my year-long illustration series for 2016, which can be found here, if you'd like to see more.
For this year's Wild & Wondrous illustration series, I've been drawing favorite wild beasts. More than one person requested a cougar, so I thought that the second time around would be a good opportunity to play around more with a different illustration style.
I really liked the style of the fawn illustration in the series and wanted to take my illustrations more in that direction. They were feeling too blocky and heavy, so I lightened up on the pattern on this one:
I love that it feels more dynamic than the last one! I'm excited to keep moving in this direction!
